Tim Han Success Insider: It’s easier to change your mind and make progress internally than to wait for your external circumstances to change ✨
There I was, standing at the threshold of a new chapter in my life. As the founder of Success Insider and the creator of the Life Mastery Accelerator (LMA) course, I've had my fair share of crossroad moments. It's during these moments that I realized a fundamental truth about life – it's easier to change your mind and make progress internally than to wait for your external circumstances to change.
You've probably heard stories of individuals like myself who have been through an incredible transformation. As a life coach, I meet many who are yearning for a change. They eagerly wait for the perfect moment or the right circumstances to initiate this transformation, stuck in their current realities, desperate for an external shakeup.
But here's the deal: The power to change lies within you.
Remember the story of Thomas Edison? His teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts before he invented the light bulb. He didn’t wait for his circumstances to change; instead, he changed his mindset. He once quoted, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” It was Edison's internal progress that led to his external success, not the other way around.
Think about it. You can't control every tiny aspect of your life. You can't control other people's actions. Weather. Traffic. But there's one thing you have absolute control over – your perception, your thoughts, how you respond to the world around you. Your mindset.
Now, you might be thinking, “Tim, I get it. But how do I change my mind?”
Remember my crossroad moment I told you about? I felt stuck. As if I were running on a treadmill, going at full speed but not moving forward. But then I took a step back. I looked within myself.
I asked myself, “What was holding me back?” I quickly realized that the external factors I was blaming were beyond my control. Inwardly though, there was fear, self-doubt, and a lack of self-belief. That realization was the beginning of my internal change.
It wasn’t easy. I had to confront my deep-seated fears and insecurities. But guess what? As Marcos Aurelius once said, “The impediment to action advances action. That which stands in the way becomes the way.”
The fears and doubts I confronted became the fuel for my internal transformation. I pushed out negative thoughts, replacing them with optimism. I drowned my doubts in a sea of self-belief and determination. I stopped running from my fears and started chasing my dreams.
Chances are, just like me, what you need to change isn't your circumstances, but your mindset.
So, what's your fear? What's the doubt niggling at the back of your mind? Acknowledge it. Embrace it. Use it as the catalyst to drive your internal change. Change your perception. Change your thoughts. Change your responses.
As the changes begin to take root within, you'll notice an evolution. Tasks that once seemed gargantuan shrink. Doors that were seemingly locked swing wide open. Personally, I began to make progress that I once only dreamed about. None of my external circumstances had changed. I had.
Remember, it's easier to change your mind and make progress internally than to wait for your external circumstances to change. So don't wait. Start within. Your journey to transformation starts now. How ready are you to take that first step? After all, isn’t that all it takes to set off on a journey that leads to success?
