Tim Han Success Insider: Stop trying to control the things which are not within your ability to change. Focus on what you CAN change, and that is your attitude and actions. ✨
Life can be unpredictable, pushing us into a whirlwind of uncertainties, doubts, and complexities so overwhelming that it may seem impossible to navigate our way through. I'm Tim Han, and in my journey as a life coach, inspirational speaker, and founder of Success Insider, I've come to realize one significant truth – the control we seek often lies within us, not outside.
Imagine, you're standing on a beach. The waves roll in, gently lapping at your feet, then retreat, stealing away the sand under your toes. Despite your best efforts, you can't hold the grains together, nor can you stop the ebb and flow of the tide. Frustrating, isn't it? But that's exactly how life is, my friend. Some things are simply beyond our control.
The ride on an airplane can resonate with this feeling. Turbulence comes and goes, flinging passengers around. But ask yourself, can you alleviate the turbulence by worrying or attempting to pilot the plane? No, right? The power lies in fastening your seatbelt, trusting the pilot, and having a faith that you'll reach your destination safely. The turbulence here symbolizes the uncontrollable external circumstances. The seatbelt? That's your attitude and actions.
Take the story of renowned physicist, Stephen Hawking. Despite being diagnosed with a motor neuron disease that progressively paralyzed him, Hawking never let despair engulf him. Instead, he throttled full-speed on the journey of unraveling the mysteries of the universe and became one of the most cherished minds of our time. This signifies that while certain aspects fell out of Hawking's physical control, his perspective and actions continued to carry him forward.
So how can we shift our attention from what we can't control to what we can? The first step is acknowledging that we can't control everything. It's okay, it's human. Accept life's ebb and flow. By doing so, we open up to flexibility and adaptability – essential tools for navigating the unpredictable roads ahead.
Next, identify the areas where you hold power. Be it your attitude, how you treat others, your honesty towards your work, or your commitment towards personal growth. These are the realms you can indeed influence and control. They are the bricks and mortar with which you lay the foundation for your future.
Now, let me ask you this: what happens when we focus on what's within our reach and turn a blind eye to the issues beyond our grasp? We become empowered. We feel liberated. We feel alive. We begin to experience the joy of living in the moment instead of losing ourselves in the anxiety of the future or the regrets of the past.
Mindfulness plays a crucial role here. Practice the art of being present. When your mind drifts to your fears, gently bring it back to the current. By doing so, you're reclaiming your power from the clutches of those uncontrollable circumstances. This, my friend, is where the magic happens.
The LMA course I've created is a testament to the transformative potency of focusing on what's under your control. It centers around internal development, guiding individuals to unlock their potential by harnessing the power they have over their decisions, attitudes, and actions.
Always remember, the sun shines after every storm. Each one of us has a sun within us, an inner radiance, potent enough to illuminate our paths even amid life's fiercest storms.
As you stand on the beach now, realize that while you can't control the waves, you can choose to make sandcastles, pick seashells, or simply enjoy the mesmerizing view. Just like this, in life, even when faced with uncontrollable circumstances, you have the power to choose your response and steer your life in the direction you want to. After all, it's not about controlling the wind but adjusting your sails that makes all the difference.
