Tim Han Success Insider: If it costs you your healing, it’s too expensive. Let it go. 🙏
We all have things in our lives that hold us back; the job that consumes too much, the relationship that's run its course, the habits that are more harmful than helpful. But have you ever stopped to consider the cost of holding onto these things? If it's interfering with your healing, then perhaps it's time you acknowledged – it's too expensive. Let it go.
Imagine, for a minute, holding a burning coal in your hand. It’s painful, isn't it? But why do we find it so challenging to let go, even when it’s causing us pain? Our minds are an intricately complex landscape, intertwined with memories, hopes, fears, and so much more. Holding on often seems easier, comforting even. But the real question is – at what price? If holding on blocks your path to healing and growth, it's an expense you can't afford.
I remember one specific incident that taught me this invaluable lesson. A failure that had been haunting me became the catalyst for change. I had launched a project with the best of intentions, bursting with enthusiasm. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out the way I had envisioned. Instead of letting go and looking forward, I found myself entangled in the web of “what ifs” – what if I had done that differently, what if I had been more careful?
This mental labyrinth was stifling my ability to heal from that failure, impeding my personal growth, and disturbing my peace of mind. The incessant “what ifs” were costing me my healing. Then it dawned on me, I had to let it go, not because it didn't matter, but because I mattered more. Failure is a stepping stone, not a dead-end.
Now, think about your life experiences. Countless instances, right? We all have moments of pain, remorse, joy, victory – such is the rich tapestry of life. But to heal, to truly move forward, we must selectively weave this tapestry, not let each thread dictate our journey.
In the words of American singer-songwriter, Lauryn Hill, “It's not easy to break with yesterday, yet we have to sometimes to find peace.” Peace and healing come from acknowledging all our experiences but carrying forward only those that propel our growth.
Without a doubt, letting go is an arduous task. It's a battle with oneself, often riddled with fear and uncertainty. How do you know when it's time to let go? Tune into your intuition. Trust in yourself, your capacity for resilience, your ability to grow and heal.
Ask yourself, “Is holding onto this benefiting me or blocking my path to healing?” “Am I holding on because it brings me happiness or because I'm afraid of the void it'll leave?” Be brutally honest with yourself. These questions might reveal uncomfortable truths, but remember, your healing is at stake, and it's a cost that's too steep to pay.
As the founder of Success Insider and the creator of the LMA (Life Mastery Achievements) course, I learned that to thrive, one needs to find courage in letting go. Yes, it might seem nude and intimidating in the moment, but on the other side of this fear lies growth and healing.
When we let go of what's not serving us, we're not denying its existence, we're merely choosing not to allow it to consume us anymore. It's a display of strength, not weakness. It's a commitment to ourselves, our mental peace, our emotional health, our healing.
So, starting today, give yourself permission to let go of anything that you're clinging onto, which might be costing you your healing. Remember, it's okay to wish things were different, but it's not okay for these wishful thoughts to impede your journey towards growth and happiness. If it costs you your healing, it's too expensive. Let it go.
Take these words not as a command but an invitation—a nudge towards a more fulfilling life. It's your journey, and only you can decide what stays, what goes, and what's too expensive. Hold onto your peace, your healing. They're priceless.
