Tim Han Success Insider: Be scared and do it anyway. Letting go of your fears opens new doors. 💫
Fear. Does that word make your heart pound, your breath hitch, your mind start imagining the worst-case scenarios? Fear is an incredible thing, isn't it? It can be as paralyzing as it is stimulating, but what if we navigated through it by embracing its presence, rather than allowing it to top us? Isn't it true that so many of the things that scare us also challenge us, dare us, and—most importantly—make us grow?
Let me tell you about a time when fear was standing, grinning enormously, in my path. This was back when I was lingering on the outer edges of what would ultimately become Success Insider. I had dreams as expansive as the night sky but fears as deep as the ocean trenches. The splendid, pulsating vision of forming an impactful personal development education company frightened me to my core. Yet, I knew, somewhere amidst that fear, lay unparalleled growth and radical transformation.
So, guess what I did? I grit my teeth, clenched my fist, took a leap of faith, and I ran headlong into my fears.
And let me tell you something, something that happens when you meet your fears head-on – they lose their power over you. Once that happens, the doors that were once closed by crippling uncertainty and self-doubt fling open, welcoming you with opportunities you wouldn't have dreamt of, had you not stepped outside your comfort zone.
Therefore, you see, everyone experiences fear. No one, not even the legends like Steve Jobs or Nelson Mandela, could escape its cold grasp. But the trick lies in letting your fears inform you, not control you. Reimagine the knots in your stomach not as anchors holding you down, but as the eagles preparing you to soar. After all, every risk involves fear, but not every fear involves risk.
So, my dear friend, when was the last time you did something despite being scared?
And yes, asking this question is scary. To answer it means revisiting moments of hesitation, uncertainty, and vulnerability. But it's important to remind ourselves that being brave isn't about never feeling fear. It's being scared but doing it anyway.
When I first created the LMA course, questions like ‘What if no one joins?' or ‘What if it's not beneficial?' plagued my mind. But I knew that repressing these fears won't help. Instead, opening up about them to my tribe, owning them, and then pushing ahead, anyway, signaled to myself and the world around me that I am more significant than my fears.
Fears are our most personal demons, but when we expose them to daylight, we may find that the monsters under our beds were merely shadows playing tricks. Open your closet, thrust the skeletons out, and let the light trickle in. Close your eyes and visualize the best possible outcome. Now, take a deep breath, pick your poise, and take a step—towards expansion, towards the edge, towards fear.
Because here's a secret: fear doesn't actually exist anywhere except in the mind. Fearlessness isn't the absence of fear – it's having the courage to say, “I'm terrified, but I won't let that stop me.”
Every great story – every fall, rise, plot twist – begins when you decide to walk with fear, not run from it. The universe rewards the brave. Remember this whenever fear slaps shackles on your dreams. You're stronger than your mind allows you to think. You've got this.
And remember, you're not alone. When life's seas become rough and turbulent, supportive communities stand by your side, guiding light unto your path, just as it did for me when I first charted my journey into the unchartered waters of personal development.
So, what do you say? Are you ready to fear and do it anyway? Ready to wrench open those doors that fear had sealed shut? I assure you that the terrain on the other side is worth overcoming any fear.
Remember, in every story about triumph and success, there's inevitably a chapter titled fear. The question is – will you let it be your story's conclusion or merely a pivotal plot point?
May we be scared, together. And may we transcend our fears, together. Let's do it anyway. And witness the magic that unravels.
