Ponder this for a minute – if you only dined on junk food, how adequately do you think your body would function? Probably not too well, right? Well, the same principle applies to your mind. Imagine your mind as a fertile ground – what you feed it will indeed determine the fruits it bears.

One of the greatest lessons I've learned while building my personal development education company, Success Insider is the profound impact our mental diet holds on the quality of our lives. And yes, that mental diet really exists! It's the thoughts we allow into our minds, the conversations we engage in, the movies we watch, and the books we read.

The mind, like any living, thriving organism, grows, expands, and adapts according to the quality of nutrients we feed it. The most successful people know this secret. They understand that to ascend, they need to feed their minds quality information consistently. You see, the quality of your life is a reflection of the quality of your thoughts.

It reminds me of the transformation one of my students in the LMA course experienced. Let's call him John. John, a soil analyst, was plagued by crippling negativity and poor self-esteem when he came to me. He shared how he would start his day with the news, filling his mind with disaster reports, crimes, and market crashes; by bedtime, he felt weary and hopeless.

I encouraged John to switch gears – start the day with a nutritious mental meal. Instead of the news, I suggested immersing his mornings in positive affirmations, meditation, reading inspirational books, or even a positive Podcast. Fast forward to three weeks later, and the results were miraculous! John reported feeling happier, more motivated, less anxious, and more hopeful about the future. His work performance improved and relationships deepened.

What did this tale teach us? That our minds are like sponges; they absorb whatever we expose them to. And the more we soak up positivity, peace, faith, and hope, the higher we soar. And, we, like John, leave negativity grounded.

You see, our subconscious mind doesn't filter information like our conscious mind does. It just takes in everything we allow. And once something is imprinted in our subconscious, it influences our actions, our behaviors, our decisions, making us who we are. The lesson here? Be careful what you feed your mind, because it might come back to bite… or uplift you.

Here's a fun exercise for you. For the next week, be ruthlessly aware of your mental diet. Track every thought, every conversation, everything you read or watch. How many of these are nourishing your mind and how many are draining it? Start leaning towards the inspiration, the motivation, the light, and see how your life uplifts!

Remember, we live in a universe that functions on the law of attraction. Positivity attracts positivity. Courage pulls in more brave endeavors. Compassion breeds deeper connections. Feed your mind what you wish to see in your life.

One favorite quote from a mystery ancient society, known as The Three Initiates, which I love, says, “All truths are but half-truths.” As you fill your mind with good, it will gradually become a part of you, and half-truths will evolve into your full reality.

So, I ask you, what kind of life do you want to live? What kind of person do you want to be? The answer lies in what you feed your mind today. It lies in the beliefs you nurture, the dreams you water, the positivity you fertilize within those imaginative fields of your mind.

Feed your mind with love, with kindness, with hope, and optimism – feed it with what you want to see more of in your life. Because if there’s one thing I’m confident of through experience and my life’s work as a personal development coach, it’s that we become not what we want, but what we believe. Who are you choosing to become, dear reader? The power lies within your choice. Sow the seeds wisely.
