Tim Han Success Insider: Do you have any fixed ideas about yourself and your limitations? Why not try looking at them in a different way – as something more malleable that can be worked on and improved? We are never truly fixed. ✨

Embrace yourself, quirks and all, for no one else in this world is quite like you. It's not a mere echo of a comforting platitude that spills from the lips of a generous confidante during troubled times. It's a truth that resides at the very core of our existence. However, it's not uncommon to succumb to the vise of limited perspectives about ourselves. You've probably whispered to yourself, too, “This is just the way I am. I cannot change.” But let's flip the script and rethink this – perhaps the very quintessence of our existence could be malleable. We're never truly fixed.

Reflection, dear friend, isn't a bitter pill to swallow but revisiting repeatedly, “This is just the way I am” is a potent poison, clouding our realms of growth, inhibiting us from unfurling our wings, keeping us grounded in our comfort zones. Admittedly, this could be an overwhelming process; one that needs patience, persistence, and above all, self-compassion. It's like sculpting your own self – a stroke here, a chip there, erasing and refining until we become a more nuanced version of ourselves – one that we can embrace wholeheartedly. Sounds too lofty and idealistic? Not when you have unstoppable self-belief percolating through every pore.

Draw your attention to famous innovator Thomas Edison and his journey towards inventing the electric light bulb. He battled through a gargantuan number of 10,000 failed attempts until he finally achieved his goal. Now, imagine if he, at any moment in those 10,000 attempts, succumbed to the voice that chanted, “This is just who you are. A failure.” Instead, he said, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” Now, that's a fresh perspective.

You and I might not be inventing light bulbs, but we do face instances in our lives where we grapple with our limitations. However, looking at them objectively, as challenges we can overcome, instead of set-in-stone hinderances, can drastically change the game. It's all about surrendering to fluidity and letting go of rigidity, viewing ourselves as works-in-progress.

By this juncture, you might be asking, “But how, Tim? How do I view myself in a different light?” Fear not. As the founder of Success Insider, I've had to unlearn and relearn, rewiring my brain and nudging it towards resilience, positivity, and adaptability. Here's a leaf out of my journey that could be the road map you need in realizing there's nothing potentially “fixed” about you – The LMA course.

Leveraging the power of learning, mentoring, and taking action, the LMA course amply reminds you to be gentle on yourself as you peel away layers of limited self-perceptions. One of my favorite nuggets of wisdom from it is – “Growing is not about becoming someone new. It is about shedding, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon.” So, the next time you fall prey to fixed self-views, remember, you can choose to be the caterpillar or the butterfly.

Remember, just as the potter adjusts the shape of the clay on the wheel constantly, so can we mold our notions about ourselves, adjusting, refining, and adding grace to our lives. Long held beliefs about our inability to change can hold us back, thus limiting our potential for success and happiness. So, let’s remove the “fixed” stamp from our minds and replace it with “flexible”. Let’s make room for growth, progress and success. Let’s become our own sculptors, molding our minds and lives into works of art we are proud of.

In the words of motivational speaker Wayne Dyer, “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” So, how do you choose to view yourself? As a fixed entity with unchangeable characteristics, or a malleable soul capable of incredible growth and transformation? Make your choice and remember, the world molds itself to the shape of your belief. There's divinity in your flexibility; harness it. Today, breathe in possibility, breathe out rigidity. You are mutable, you're a masterpiece in progress, and the palette of life is in your hands.
