In today's video I'm going to share you the five deadly mistakes you're making when it comes to first impressions.

This is an area of my life I struggle with so much. You may know my background is that I've been shy and introverted for as long as I can remember. Ever since school days because of the bullying that I experienced.

A lot of things I've learned today from traveling around the world and speaking on global stages, and other things I've learned from mentors, so I've gone through a transformation.

These five mistakes I was making, in terms of first impressions, were holding me back for many, many years. That's why I want you to pay close attention because this will be the big leverage you need to get yourself up to that next level.

Do you feel like you often make a bad first impression on people you meet? They don’t seem interested in you, they don’t listen to what you say, maybe they don’t meet your eyes or smile at you?

These experiences are mainly connected to you, Insider. Usually people reflect what they are seeing in you, and what they do is a mirror of what you are doing.

Do you tend to get stuck in your head thinking what to say next, or thinking about what happened yesterday?

Do you take trouble with how you present yourself?

Are you trying too hard to make a good impression and maybe clinging onto anyone you interact with?

Do you think talking a lot will inspire the person in front of you?

Are you feeling unconfident about meeting new people and it shows in your body language?

But don’t despair! A few small changes can ensure you make a great first impression with everyone you meet.

Have you ever wondered why there are some days where you feel like you’re preventing yourself from getting what you really want? It seems as though you’re stopping yourself somehow, which sounds crazy, but you’re not sure how to get out of your own way and move towards getting what you want in life.

 

You see a lot of successful people in life and you are trying to work out how they have overcome that pattern—somehow they have learned to master themselves, their thoughts, their actions and so on—to let themselves move towards achieving what they really want with no barriers.

 

You are not alone in wondering why you aren’t getting the results you want. Most people haven’t been taught any strategies for how to do this and that is why they don’t feel like they are successful—they just don’t know how to get there!

 

Don’t be discouraged, insider! Remember you can always make changes in your life to attract whatever you desire.

 

Successful people use certain techniques to do this, which involve their perception of themselves, their mindset and the relationship between their mind and their character.

 

If you have a faulty perception of yourself—you think you’re working harder than you actually are, or you don’t believe in yourself enough, this will affect your level of success.

 

And if you have an unhelpful mindset and you’re telling yourself negative things or undermining yourself, this won’t help you get what you want.

 

Also if you’re not sure which part of you is in control of your life and you’re letting your emotions control you, or you can’t stop procrastinating, this will have a negative effect on your success.

 

Luckily, there are three methods you can use to change these behaviours so you can get out of your own way in getting what you want in life. I will show you these strategies in the video I share today.

The premise of that is basically saying how detrimental sitting is to our health. And so, because of the amount of time we spend at our desks? I want to share with you my personal desk set up that helps me stay productive and in good health.

How to stop feeling shy when speaking to others…

That's something that I wish I knew the answer to when I was younger.

Speaking is something that people can be naturally good at, or – if you're someone like me – something that you have to actively practice.

Growing up I was one of the shyest kids you would ever meet… and it's strange to think that now I can hop on stage and deliver speeches to 1000's of people now. But of course, it didn't happen overnight.

And that's why in today's video I wanted to share a couple of tips to help you overcome any nervousness you may have when talking to people.
